Voice Management Workshop at UCC, 23 April
Do you use your voice in the course of your daily work and depend on
maintaining a healthy and effective vocal production? Unfortunately,
the voice is easy to abuse, and a misused voice can lead to both
temporary and permanent damage of the vocal apparatus. Do you
have trouble being easily heard and understood? Do you get a sore, taut
or tired throat after giving a lecture or singing? Or a dry cough? Do
you sometimes lose your voice? Or get throat infections easily?
These could all be early signs of problems that can become a lot worse
if not managed successfully.
A Workshop on Voice Management takes place on Saturday, 23 April at
UCC. Aimed at lecturers, singers, actors, public speakers of all
kinds, the Workshop will be delivered by two experts in the voice,
Hilary Reynolds (a professional singer and vocal coach of many years
experience), and Hayo Huisman (a practising Cesar therapist since 1991).
The Workshop is based around ?Cesar Technique? (a method akin to
Alexander Technique), and professional vocal production methods which
are designed to help attain an efficient and effective use of the
voice. The Workshop runs from 10am-5pm, Boole III Lecture Theatre, 23
April. The fee is ?40 with student concession ?30.
