Application Procedure for Medicine

Applications for Medicine at UCC can only be made through designated UCC agents. Each agent has a specific closing date. Please contact the relevant agent for information on the application procedure and closing dates:

Entry Criteria

Entry Criteria - 5 Year Programme

Below are the minimum requirements for your application to be considered by UCC:

IELTS – 6.5 (minimum individual sections 6.5)

TOEFL –  90 (minimum - Listening 23 / Reading 21 / Speaking 22 / Writing 23)

A Levels – 3 subjects - A A A minimum (including Chemistry and one other science subject) - in one sitting

                 4 subjects – A A A B minimum (including A in Chemistry and two other science subjects) - in one sitting

International Baccalaureate (IB) –  36 (plus bonus points) to include 3 HL subjects of which Chemistry and one other science subject (Physics, Biology or Maths) at a minimum score of 6.  If a third science subject is presented at SL, it must have a score of minimum 6.  


Entry Criteria - Graduate Entry Medicine

North American applicants for the GEM programme are required to have taken MCAT and to provide the MCAT score report with their application.
