Entry Criteria

2024 Entry Criteria - 5 Year Programme

Below are the minimum requirements for your application to be considered by UCC:

A Levels:

3 subjects - AAA minimum - Chemistry + 1 of either Physics or Biology + one other subject (in one sitting).  If Maths is not presented as an A Level a minimum A in GCSE Maths is required.

4 subjects - AAAB minimum - Chemistry + 2 of either Physics, Biology or Maths + one other subject (in one sitting).  Must present an A in Chemistry.  If Maths is not presented as an A Level a minimum A in GCSE Maths is required.

International Baccalaureate (IB) 

36 excluding bonus \ Core points to include 3 HL subjects of which Chemistry and one other science subject (Physics, Biology or Maths) at a minimum score of 6.  If a third science subject is presented at SL, it must have a score of minimum 6.  All subjects must be taken in one sitting.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS - 6.5 (minimum individual sections 6.5)

TOEFL - 90 (minimum Listening 23 \ Reading 21 \ Speaking 22 \ Writing 23)

University of Cambridge: 176 overall with not less than 176 in each element of the test 

Pearson PTE Academic: Minimum of 63 (with at least 63 for each item in the Communicative Skills section)

Duolingo English Test (DET): DET 120 with a minimum score of 120 in each individual section.

Entry Criteria - Graduate Entry Medicine

Applicants for the GEM programme are required to have taken MCAT \ GAMSAT within three years of the date of entry and to provide the MCAT \ GAMSAT score report with their application.
