LGBT Staff Liaison Officer

An LGBT Staff Liaison Officer was proposed and approved at the network's AGM on 30th June 2008. The terms of reference of this role are as follows:

Role:

  • To represent the UCC LGBT Staff Network and the relevant university bodies in furthering their equality agenda in the LGBT area.
  • Where appropriate to seek representation on any university groups or committees (e.g. Equality Committee) which will assist in furthering the Network’s aims.

Term:The term of office will be for three years.

Nomination: The nominating body will be the UCC LGBT Staff Network who will select the nominee at their AGM in the relevant year – by consensus if possible or failing that by secret (straight-past-the-post) ballot.

Remuneration: The post will be non-remunerative.

Facilitation: The holder will be entitled to release from work duties, expenses, etc. as per the usual norms agreed by HR for trade union representatives and subject to approval by the nominee of the head of HR.
