Petals to Pavements opens in the Jennings Gallery

15 Oct 2025

Caroline Quinn launches her first solo exhibition!

The Jennings Gallery is proud to present Petals to Pavements, the first solo exhibition by artist Caroline Quinn. This exhibition marks a deeply personal and creative milestone for Caroline, one that celebrates the intersection of art, nature, and wellbeing.

The Inspiration

A solo exhibition had long been on Caroline’s bucket list, though, as she admits with a smile, it sat near the end of a very long one. With encouragement from family and friends, she decided last May to take the leap and submit a proposal to the Jennings Gallery. “They accepted, and long story short, here we are this evening.”

Caroline’s inspiration is rooted in the natural beauty of Ireland’s environment. She is drawn to the vibrancy of colour in the fields, mountains, and skies that define both countryside and cityscapes.

Her work seeks to bridge art and wellness - offering viewers a meditative experience that invites reflection on health, illness, and the therapeutic power of visual storytelling.

Petals to Pavements as a concept allows us to travel between the natural and the built environment,” she explains. “Beauty radiates from flowers, water, and trees, but also from the structures created by human hands. All are represented in this exhibition.” For Caroline, painting is more than a creative pursuit, it is a form of therapy and joy. “Art is therapy for me. The joy I get from painting is boundless. Each piece comes from my heart, and my wish is that you, too, find pleasure in my efforts.”

Her reflections echo a sentiment she discovered while travelling, in a quote by Harnoncourt:

“Art isn’t a pretty accessory — it’s the umbilical cord that connects us with the divine. It ensures our humanity.” “I couldn’t agree more,” Caroline adds.

Petals to Pavements invites viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with nature, with art, and with the enduring human capacity for beauty and empathy.

Acknowledgements

Caroline extends her heartfelt thanks to all who have supported her on this journey.

“Firstly, I wish to express my gratitude to the Jennings Gallery Committee for their support and for facilitating this exhibition. It is a wonderful honour for me, as an artist and graduate of UCC's School of Nursing and Midwifery, to be given the freedom to share my work. Laoise, Caroline, and Donal of UCC deserve a special mention as you made the planning go seamlessly. Thank you all very much. The beautiful framing you see was done by Ivan Wolfe. And finally, to my family and friends, you have been amazing. Look at you all here. Your support for this evening and throughout my art journey cannot be measured but is appreciated beyond words.”

Petals to Pavements continues at the Jennings Gallery, Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, UCC until the New Year.
