Proof-of-concept, Method Development and Analysis

(Lead: Dr Eilis O' Reilly)

Several ways of linking separate datasets in air quality and health have been investigated in the literature and new ways will potentially be recommended by the INHALE project. A selection of these approaches will be tested in the context of Irish health and air quality data focusing on health outcomes that are know to be linked to air pollution, such as (cardiovascular and respiratory disease, stroke, ). Focusing on health outcomes that are known to be influenced by air pollution through decades of international research will point the way to best practice for linkage of air quality and health data for research using Irish administrative health data.

Costs associated with known health outcomes that are attributable to air pollution will be estimated.
