Dr. Deborah Chapman and Stuart Warner of the GEMS/Water CDC attended the GEMI Work in Progress workshop, from the 7th to the 9th of September, hosted by UNESCO-IHE, in Delph, the Netherlands.

The workshop was delivered by the Netherlands Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment with the support of UNESCO-IHP, UNESCO-IHE and the Netherlands and German IHP-HWRP Committees.

The aim of the workshop was to develop and support the monitoring of SDG 6 in countries globally. The event focused on (1) whether the Proof of Concept process was on track, (2) sharing feedback and discussing the proposed methods and indicators, and (3) identifying which additional actions need to be undertaken in the context of the Proof of Concept (PoC) activities. Several PoC countries (Jordan, the Netherlands, Peru, Senegal and Uganda) attended the workshop, contributing insight into their varying implementations of SDG monitoring processes.

The CDC team would like to thank UNESCO-IHE and all contributing parties for organising and attending a successful and productive event.
