School of English Student named 'Fresher of the Year'

Daisy Pemble awarded the accolade for her work with societies and LGBT rights
Daisy, who was presented with the 'Fresher of the Year' Award at the Clubs & Societies Ball tells us 'I was determined to get involved in societies when I came to UCC, and one of the first things I did was set up the Knitting Society. Since November, it has become a flourishing student experience and I have made many friends from the work that I do. In addition, as First Year Rep of the LGBT* Society I have developed a passion for campaigning for Marriage Equality and LGBT* Rights. It was an honour to receive this accolade and I endeavour to continue my society work throughout my college life!'
