Dr Donna Alexander awarded a publishing contract as the runner up in the Women's Studies category
Dr Donna Alexander is the runner up in the Women's Studies category of the 2015 Peter Lang Young Scholars Competition. They will be publishing her monograph titled Weeder of Wreckage: Documentary and Death in the Poetry of Lorna Dee Cervantes, a book which expands on research carried out as part of her PhD-thesis titled, 'Chicana Poetics: Genre and Style in Gloria Anzaldúa and Lorna Dee Cervantes' (2015).
The 2015 Peter Lang Young Scholars Competition was held in the fields of Irish Studies and Women’s Studies. Proposals were invited from early career scholars with connections to the UK and Ireland by 31 July 2015. The winner of the competition in each field is offered a contract for a non-subsidized paperback book to be published by Peter Lang.
