Fulbright Fellow in Creative Writing

Professor Brendan Mathews to visit the School of English for the autumn semester.
Professor Mathews is a faculty member at Bard College at Simon's Rock. While in UCC, Professor Mathews will teach a course on the short story to the MA in Creative Writing students, offer some workshops on writing fellowships and related professional opportunities in the US, and work on his own novel. Brendan Mathews has a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MFA from the University of Virginia. His short stories have been published in The Southern Review and The Manchester Review and selected for inclusion in The Best American Short Stories, 2010 and 2014.
