UCC English lecturer speaking at Yeats Nobel Event in Seanad Chamber

Dr Adam Hanna, Lecturer in Irish Literature in the School of English and Digital Humanities, will be speaking at an event in Seanad Éireann to mark the centenary of the award of the Nobel Prize for Literature to W. B. Yeats.
The event, 'Smiling Public Man', will be held in Seanad Éireann on the evening of Thursday November 23rd 2023 in the Seanad Chamber of Leinster House. There will be music and readings of poetry from the poet's descendants, and Dr Hanna will speak about the contribution of Senator Yeats as a member of the first Seanad of the Irish Free State. This event will be hosted by Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, Senator Jerry Buttimer, in collaboration with the National Library of Ireland.
The event will be shown on Oireachtas TV at 6pm on Friday 24th November and repeated at 9pm on Sunday 26th November. It will also be uploaded to the Oireachtas TV website by Monday 27th.
