AIESEP Motor Competence Seminar Italy - 28th to 30th September 2022
At the end of September, Dr. Wesley O'Brien, Dr. Diarmuid Lester and Dr. Fiona Chambers (President AIESEP) each travelled to Brixen/ Bressanone for the AIESEP motor competence seminar held in Italy. This was an excellent 3-day interactive seminar, whereby the sessions comprised of keynote discussions, breakout room activities, position statement developments and poster presentations.
Wesley led and presented a poster on: Holistic motor competence assessment in action through Project FLAME – Convergent validity between fundamental movement skills and functional movement assessments in adolescence.
Diarmuid led and presented a poster on: The practicalities of assessing motor competence in a holistic manner – How Project FLAME measures both fundamental movement skills and functional movement at secondary school level.
Fiona led and presented a poster on: An Assessment Framework for Quality Physical Education: Harnessing the power of threshold concepts
This was a wonderful event organised by the AIESEP conference committee, with tangible action outcomes being planned for 2023 as part of this recent seminar delivery.
