Wajiha graduated with MSc. Biotechnology (2011) from Mount Carmel College (Autonomous), Bangalore India and worked as a lecturer in two different universities before moving to Chicago, USA in 2015. She pursued Medical Nutrition coursework at William Rainey Harper College, alongside working as a tutor for individuals with Downs Syndrome.

Wajiha's keen interest in pursuing training in cancer research brought her to Ireland in 2019, where she completed a Research Masters-Cancer Research (2020) at National University of Ireland, Galway. More recently, she completed the Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy from PCI College, Dublin in August 2022.

Wajiha has previously worked in patient engagement roles with the HSE- National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) for COVID-19 and Indegene Ireland, Ltd in Cork. She joined the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, UCC in June 2023 as Research Assistant and worked on a Teaching & Learning Enhancement project. Wajiha took up a new position as Research Assistant/Data Manager with Cancer Research @UCC in August 2023.
