Breakthrough Clinical Cancer Research Fellow

Dr Maeve Hennessy graduated from University College Dublin in 2016. She obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) in 2018 and is currently undergoing Higher Specialist Training in Medical Oncology. Dr Hennessy has an interest in clinical research, has presented at multiple national and international meetings, and has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications.  In 2022, she was awarded a highly prestigious Breakthrough Cancer Clinical Research Fellowship, to support a two year period of clinical research in Cork University Hospital and Cancer Research @ University College Cork, under the mentorship of Prof Roisin Connolly. As part of this, she is undertaking an MD in Clinical Medicine with a focus on the perioperative period as a platform for cancer research and exploring drug and biomarker discovery in this setting.
