WiSTEM2D Johnshon & Johnson Scholarship for Third Year Biochemistry student
Congratulations to Jennifer McCarthy, who attained a WiSTEM2D Johnshon & Johnson Scholarship.
The virtual WiSTEM2D Scholarship Awards ceremony was held on Monday 24th January 2022. In addition, to the scholarship Jennifer attained a beautiful art piece and was matched with a mentor. Her mentor Claire Walsh graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Biotechnology and is employed as a Manufacturing Process Specialist in Janssen Ireland.
Jennifer was awarded a Bene Merenti at the UCC Societies STARS awards 2022. Jennifer also secured the Strategic Sciences and Technical Operations summer placement at Janssen and will work on the Biologics Clinical Planning & Operations Team during summer 2022.
During summer 2021, Jennifer completed a research project under the supervision of Professor Abina Crean, School of Pharmacy, on the lyophilisation of protein drugs.
