Our site has been developed to deliver information on all aspects of the department's teaching, research and community involvement. The overall structure seeks to deliver this information in a comprehensive, efficient and user-friendly manner, consistent with the University's overall site. We envisage the site's audience comprising: prospective students, the current student body, researchers, colleagues, schools, local historical and archaeological societies, and of course the curious browser. If you have any queries or comments on how we might improve our site, we would be delighted to hear from you (email@example.com).
To navigate the site, please use the principal menu along the left-hand side of your window. There is also a navigation menu along the top of the window which allows you to retrace your steps.
Some of our pages may contain a number of sub-sections. Each sub-section appears under a colour block banner and can be minimized/maximised by clicking on the + symbol (at the right edge).
The homepage contains quicklinks to main sections on our site: About Us, Study Here (for prospective students), Current Students (resources for current students), Research, Community, Media Gallery. Sticky tabs (or call-out boxes) appear on the right-hand side of each of out pages providing a direct link to various sections and media items.
The UCC web platform is designed to respond to a variety of display sizes. When viewing our website on a smaller screen you will be able to access our main menu (normally on the left of the screen) via the Yellow 'Go To' tab. The sticky tabs on the right-hand side of the page may be re-positioned to the bottom of the page.
Our news section lists our recent stories and announcements. Clicking on the headline will give access to the full story.
|Current Students (Resources)|
Various resources are delivered to current students through our website. Some sections are password protected. Please note that teaching material and resources are also delieverd through UCC's Blackboard system (your module co-ordinator will have further details).
Live links to other parts of the site, or to other external websites, appear in bold typeface and become active when the cursor passes over them. All external links will open in a separate window/tab.
Our media gallery contains images and video files (or links thereto) captured during various departmental activities. If you have photos from a fieldtrip or event and would like to post it in our gallery, we would love to hear from you. We also have a Facebook page, so please feel free to post photos/videos/comments/links here too.
