This engaging webinar explores a creative and innovative approach to professional practice through adventure and nature-based therapies. It highlights the work of New Wave Wild Project, a clinical therapeutic intervention service established in 2017 and firmly rooted in social work ethics and professional practice.
Over the past nine years, the organisation has evolved to integrate a dynamic blend of social work, psychology, psychotherapy, and educational practice. Social work remains the cornerstone of this adventure therapy model, with person-centred practice at its core.
Through practical examples and real-world tools, this webinar demonstrates the development of a unique adventure therapy programme. Participants will be introduced to a range of kinaesthetic and experiential tools used in everyday sessions to enhance communication, deepen learning, and support evaluation and feedback processes.
Particularly relevant for professionals working with young people and families, this session offers fresh inspiration and practical ideas that can be adapted across diverse practice settings.

Philip Stallard is a CORU-registered Social Worker, Accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, and Clinically Certified Adventure Therapist (CCAT) whose work integrates core social work theories and values with clinical adventure therapy practice. Drawing on experience across therapeutic and community-based contexts, his approach emphasises relational practice, reflexivity, and the role of social and environmental context in therapeutic change. His work examines how social work provides a rigorous ethical and theoretical foundation for effective, grounded adventure-based clinical interventions.
