In this webinar, Professor Paula McFadden will talk about safe staffing in children's services.
Paula McFadden’s research expertise is on workforce wellbeing, retention, turnover, burnout and resilience. She has conducted workforce research at regional, national and international levels and across disciplines including social work, social care, nursing, midwifery and allied health services. The Department of Health (2023-2025) commissioned McFadden and team to conduct research in preparation for policy and legislation on ‘safer and effective staffing’ soon to be introduced in Northern Ireland. This work introduced standards for workloads across programs of care which are recommended in policy guidance from the Department of Health (2026) based on the analysis and recommendations.
