Launch of open call: UCC Green Campus and UNIC Living Laboratory Fund
We are delighted to announce an open call for UCC Green Campus Living Laboratory funding. This iteration of the fund will support demonstration projects up to the value of €5,000. Funding will also be available for projects that include meaningful engagement with UNIC partners.
A "Living Laboratory" uses the knowledge and research capabilities of our students and staff to solve issues relating to our own infrastructure and practices. UCC Green Campus established the Living Laboratory Seed Fund to research and address real-life problems, using UCC itself as a testbed. Proposals must support the goals and objectives outlined in UCC’s Sustainability and Climate Action Plan (2023-28). Projects that advance our Green Labs and Plastic Free UCC programmes, that aim to reduce carbon emissions, or that embed sustainability within the curriculum, are particularly welcome.
Further information, and the application form, can be found here at this link.
Queries should be directed to Dr Maria Kirrane, Head of Sustainability and Climate Action by email to m.kirrane@ucc.ie; queries regarding the UNIC component can be directed to Aoife Dowling, UNIC Project Manager at aoife.dowling@ucc.
The deadline for submission of applications is 5pm on Wednesday 1st July 2026 and late applications will not be accepted. Projects are expected to end by 31st August 2027.
