During the re-assessment for University College Cork's (UCC) HR Excellence in Research Award, committee members of the University College Cork Research Staff Association (UCCRSA) met with European Commission (EC) assessors on their recent visit.

Through her dedication to mentoring young students, Dr Anna Hogan exemplifies the powerful impact academics can have in inspiring the next generation of scientists. By sharing her passion and expertise, she helps students, particularly young women, see a place for themselves in science.

The Cork-Singida Partnership is a registered charity set up over 30 years ago by UCC staff. Since then, the Partnership has contributed more than €750,000 to Makiungu Hospital in Singida, Tanzania, to help provide healthcare to the people of the region.

The Global Virus Network, in partnership with the University of South Florida, presents a webinar series featuring expert virologists from GVN Centers of Excellence. This session features Ali Mirazimi, PhD, a Professor at Karolinska Institutet and a senior expert at both the Public Health Agency of Sweden and the Head of Section at the National Veterinary Institute. He will discuss "Uncovering How Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus Hijacks Cells: The Key Role of the LDL Receptor in Its Replication."
