Dr Jenny Butler gave a presentation as part of UCC PRAXIS Week on the PRAXIS Project Peru Partnership.
The PRAXIS project is about Global Citizenship Education, knowledge exchange, cross-cultural understanding, the rights of land and non-human persons, interconnection of people and place, ancestral wisdom and indigenous knowledge.
The overall PRAXIS Project, funded by Irish Aid, is coordinated by Gertrude Cotter and PRAXIS Week was organised by Gertrude Cotter and Billy Goodwin. Dr Jenny Butler is Co-Lead on the Praxis Peru Partnership with Dr Céire Broderick (UCC Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies) alongside Melania Canales Poma (Federación Regional de Mujeres Indígenas de Ayacucho – FEREMIA), Dr Zulma Villa Vílchez (Cátedra de Derecho de los Pueblos Indígenas de la FDCP-Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos), María D’jalma Torres (Peruvian indigenous rights lawyer based in Ireland), and UCC colleagues Dr Evelien Geerts (Women's Studies and Philosophy), Dr Amin Sharifi Isaloo (Sociology and Criminology), Dr Marina Bell (Sociology and Criminology), and Elizabeth Rosales Martínez (Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies), who is working as a Research Assistant on the project.
