Today is World Mental Health Day!
In recognition of World Mental Health Day, PROSPERH is facilitating a webinar on Friday, October 11 (13:00 – 14:30 CET).
The theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day is “It is Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace”, which highlights the importance of fostering supportive work environments.
In recent years, rapid changes have occurred in the workplace. New forms of work and work management have arisen, which can affect the mental and physical health of workers in ways, both positive and negative, that are not yet well understood.
In 2022, 46% of respondents in a Flash Eurobarometer survey reported being under severe time pressure and work overload, and the costs for work-related depression alone in the European Union are over EUR 600 billion per year.
A research project at University College Cork, coordinated by Professor Ella Arensman, Head of School of Public Health UCC and co-lead, Dr Eve Griffin, CEO, National Suicide Research Foundation (NSRF) on mental health is examining this very issue.
