Ambassador of Malta Visits UCC
University College Cork was delighted to welcome Her Excellency Fiona Formosa, Ambassador of Malta to Ireland, to campus on Wednesday, 15th April 2026.
Ambassador Formosa was received at the President’s Office by Professor John O’Halloran where she signed the Visitor’s Book and was presented with a commemorative gift.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission, Ms Mariel Sacco, and Honorary Consul, Mr John Minihan. Also present for the meeting were Vice-President Global Engagement, Professor Ursula Kilkelly, and Director of European Relations & Public Affairs, Dr Jean van Sinderen-Law. The visit was also marked by the attendance of UCC Maltese students, Ms Gwen Jane Agius (BA English), and Mr Michael Danielovich Xuereb (BSc Computer Science).
The group explored opportunities for enhanced collaboration under the Erasmus programme, as well discussing a range of broader areas of mutual interest.
