Groundbreaking Maritime and Offshore Safe Pass Pilot Programme Launched in Cork
UCC President Professor O’Halloran MRIA recently attended the launch of the Groundbreaking Maritime and Offshore Safe Pass Pilot Programme at the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) in Ringaskiddy. The launch underlines the commitment and partnership between the education providers in Cork to develop and deliver an extended programme of courses over the coming years to serve the renewable energy sector, and sectors of the economy linked to these developments. This commitment is evidenced and underpinned by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Cork ETB, University College Cork and Munster Technological University that sets out the partners joint ambitions in this regard.

UCC Celebrates Surgeon Noonan Achievements
Founded in 1977 by UCC medical students, Surgeon Noonan was established in honour of Dr Tim Noonan, a UCC-trained surgeon who dedicated much of his career to medical work in Nigeria and the Congo before his death in 1975. Now the largest student-run charity in Ireland, Surgeon Noonan supports medical aid in sub Saharan Africa—funding infrastructure such as maternity wards and HIV clinics, along with essential supplies like antibiotics and sterile equipment.
