Keynote Speaker Jack Kavanagh Addresses Mental & Emotional Wellbeing, Diverse Abilities at School Assembly

On 11 October 2023, the School of Pharmacy was delighted to welcome Mr. Jack Kavanagh, one of Ireland's leading speakers focusing on Mental & Emotional Wellbeing and Diverse Abilities as our keynote speaker at the 2023 School Assembly.

As a Pharmacist, Speaker and Facilitator, Jack is passionate about the value of health and wellbeing as drivers of performance, coupled with cultivating diverse and inclusive environments where people belong and are valued.

In 2014, Jack gave the acclaimed TEDx Talk “Fearless Like a Child: Overcoming Adversity” and in 2019, he was awarded as one of the “Ten Outstanding Young People of the Year”. Jack has also received several international awards for his documentary Breaking Boundaries and ‘Only Human’ podcast at www.Jack-Kavanagh.com

The School Assembly event is organised to support networking and engagement within the community (staff and students) of the School. Jack’s presentation covered a range of topics, from mental and emotional well-being, personal leadership, and building inner confidence to the importance of resilience and friendships. Commenting at the end of Jack's presentation, Professor Brendan Griffin surmised that Jack’s insights, perspectives, and expertise are an inspiration to all staff and students and described Jack as a leader in integrity, innovation, inclusivity, and impact.
