27 Jul 2022

The Viva took place via Teams. The internal examiner was Dr Cathal McCarthy (top right), the external examiner was Prof Arthur Liesz (bottom center). The two supervisors (Prof Christian Waeber and Dr Anne Moore) are on the bottom right.

Congratulations to Kyle Malone, who just successfully defended his thesis on "The Role of Regulatory T Cells in Stroke Recovery". This project was funded by an Irish Research Council (IRC) Postgraduate Scholarship and was supervised by Prof Christian Waeber (Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics/School of Pharmacy) and Dr Anne Moore (School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology). This project, with preclinical and clinical components, sheds new light on the role of a suppressive T lymphocyte population in the beneficial effects of potential stroke therapeutics.
