Of the students, 61 achieved at least 600 Leaving Certificate points, and 29 of them achieved the maximum score of 625 points.

UCC President, Professor Patrick O’Shea, will deliver the Welcome Address and Professor John O'Halloran, Vice-President for Teaching & Learning and Director of UCC's Quercus Talented Students' Programme, will give the Scholarship Awards Address.

The event will be attended by family, guidance counsellors, school principals, and academic staff.

"I realised early in Frist Year that passion and curiosity are all that’s required for success," commented Sinéad Ní Argáin, UCC Quercus Talented & Quercus Entrance Scholarship Recipient 2016.
