Irish Examiner profiles UCC President

2015 marks the bicentenary of George Boole, forefather of the information age and first professor of mathematics at University College Cork. The University is celebrating the bicentenary with a range of events and the year kicks off with the George Boole 200 Inaugural Lectures on the 5th February, 6pm which will be live-streamed.
The co-founder of Synopsys and Cadence, Professor Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli, University of California Berkeley and the former Chief Scientific Adviser for Scotland Professor Muffy Calder OBE, University of Glasgow are the guest speakers who will discuss how Boolean thought has influenced our modern world.
