UCC poet in Bantry literary festival
Poet and UCC French lecturer, Dr Mary Noonan is the ‘roaming’ poet at the West Cork Literary Festival in Bantry this week.
But the public can be sure of meeting her in the flesh at her book-signing in Bantry Books at 2pm on Saturday 13 July. Free copies of her book The Fado House will be given to the first two people who can quote the titles of all the poems she has read at events during the week.
Mary Noonan’s poems have been published widely in print and online and her poems have featured in The Alhambra Poetry Calendar (2010) and Best Irish Poetry 2010. In 2007, she was selected to take part in the Poetry Ireland Introductions series in Dublin and was invited to read at the Poetry Hearings festival in Berlin in 2009. The manuscript of The Fado House was awarded the Listowel Writers’ Week Poetry Collection Prize in 2010.
