‘A Grand Tour’ is the title of an exhibition of paintings of Georgian architecture by Geraldine O’Riordan  in the Boole Library until the end of December.

Geraldine's involvement on the committee of the Cork chapter of the Irish Georgian Society, which has visited approximately two hundred buildings in its ten year existence, and her voluntary work with the Irish Heritage Trust at Fota House influenced her desire to create a visual record of these outstanding buildings. “My focus is to raise awareness of our journey through history, narrated through our built heritage” says Geraldine.

The exhibition runs until Tuesday December 31st and is open from 8.30 to 21.45 Monday to Friday and 10.00 to 12.45 on Saturdays.

Geraldine  O’Riordan studied at the Crawford School of Art, now the Crawford Gallery and went on to run a successful art and decorating business  including work on commissions on historic buildings, among them Glin Castle, Glenstal Abbey and Castlehyde.  Geraldine has been a full-time artist since 2005 and has shown her work at four solo exhibitions and several group shows since then.

In February 2013 Geraldine received a Tyrone Guthrie bursary award from Cork County Council. In May she was artist of the month the Lavit Gallery, Cork.
