Minister Quinn visits UCC
Ruairí Quinn, T.D., Minister for Education and Skills visited UCC recently to open the international conference 'Religious Education in a Global-Local World'.
Minister Quinn was welcomed to campus by Dr Michael Murphy, President, UCC. He then attended some of the conference sessions before officially opening the conference itself.
'RE21 - Religious Education in a Global-Local World' featured more than 50 researchers from 19 countries around the world including Australia, Russia, Nigeria, Turkey, Canada and Japan as well as Ireland and other European countries.
The conference was hosted by the Study of Religions Dept, UCC, in collaboration with the IRC Collaborative research project 'Making Communion: Disappearing and Emerging Forms of Childhood in Ireland's Schools, Homes and Communities' and made possible by a generous alumnus donation to the Cork University Foundation.
