Professor Bertil Andersson, President, Nanyang Technical University in Singapore recently visited UCC and the Tyndall National Institute to discuss areas of collaboration.

 

He met with Dr Michael Murphy, President, Mr Dick Spring, Honorary Patron of the Farmleigh Fellowship, Professor Fan Hong, School of Asian Studies and Mr Trevor Holmes, Vice-President, External Relations to discuss opportunities to extend existing ties between the two Universities and to consolidate the future of the MBS Asian Business Programme.

This one-year full-time programme is awarded by UCC and delivered in partnership with Nanyang Business School at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and the Farmleigh Fellowship. Students spend three months at UCC and a total of twenty-eight weeks in Asia. This involves intensive study at NTU and 16 weeks working with leading Irish companies and organisations in various locations across Asia. Having completed the course at NTU and business placements in Asia, students return to UCC for final workshops and presentations.

Now in its second year, and with preparation for recruitment of the 2013 cohert underway, it is a programme, which through the collaboration of the involved parties, continues to evolve and expand.
