Fourteen graduates will work on ten business ideas in areas such as protein chemistry, software and tourism on the UCC Graduate Business Innovation Programme, IGNITE.

Participants include PhD and Masters graduates with backgrounds in science, engineering, information systems, government and media.

IGNITE is a nine-month incubation programme that enables graduates of any discipline to set up a business and to create jobs.

The graduates are provided with business incubation space, mentoring and the programme covers all aspects of bringing a product or service to market.

UCC hosted a reception recently to mark the collaboration between the City Council, the County Council and the University in developing IGNITE.
