Networking Opportunities for PhD Students

This Friday, (May 18), an international careers' consultant will provide a free workshop on all aspects of online and off-line networking for PhD students.

The Graduate School of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, in partnership with UCC Careers Service, is holding two events next weekend for postgraduate research students, particularly PhDs.  

On Friday, 18th of May, Dr Sara Shinton, internationally renowned careers consultant and research careers’ expert will visit UCC and provide a free, day-long careers’ workshop on all aspects of the online and off-line networking. On the morning of 21st of May, the annual “Broadening Horizons for PhD Students” event will take place at which past PhD graduates of arts disciplines will speak about their career paths in a range of relevant non-academic fields.  Speakers will include Dr Adrian Murphy, Digital Media Manager at Horniman Museum, Dr Julia Whittredge, Resident Director at Academic Programs International, Dr Bronagh Clarke, Departmental Manager, UCC Paediatric and Child Health Department, Cork University Hospital and Gabrielle Hanrahan, Community Liaison Officer at University of Limerick.
