07.02.2012

The Awards Ceremony for this year’s Law Annual Essay Competition took place recently. The competition attracted an unprecedented number of entries from all over the country. The winners were presented with cheques to the value of €200 in the presence of participating schools and staff from UCC’s Department of Law.

A welcome address was given by the Dean, Professor Steve Hedley, and a panel of experts in the various fields spoke on the different topics and outlined why each individual essay was seen to have stood out from its competitors.

Topics & Winners

The Faculty of Law at UCC invites all senior cycle students to submit an essay of approximately 1,000 words on one of a number of topics considered pertinent to modern day life in Ireland. The purpose of the competition is to encourage students to consider the relevance and impact of law on their lives and society generally. Entries are welcome in both English and Irish.
