Dr Áine Ryall, who chaired the Awards Selection Committee says:

"It is an honour to be involved in this year’s awards programme and to get an opportunity first-hand to observe the ground-breaking work that is being done by my colleagues and its positive impact both within UCC and beyond. Each year, UCC staff and students are involved directly in nominating and selecting the individuals and teams to be honoured with an award. In 2012, the successful nominees inspired their colleagues and students due to their commitment, innovation and inspirational achievement.”
