Matthew Elderfield, Deputy Governor (Head of Financial Regulation), at the Central Bank of Ireland will offer a talk in UCC on Friday 19 October.

 

Elderfield, who is an Adjunct Professor in UCC’s Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems will speak on the topic: “The Banking Sector: Five Challenges.” This will be Elderfield’s third time to speak at UCC; his previous talks have included important updates and additional context on the deployment and impact of regulatory policy in Ireland.

Head of the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems, Professor Ciaran Murphy comments:  

“The Financial Services Innovation Centre (FSIC) and the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland (ACOI) are delighted to welcome Matthew Elderfield to UCC for this important occasion. Matthew Elderfield has played a very important role in communicating updates on the work of the Central Bank of Ireland to the public, and we look forward to hosting what promises to be a stimulating update on the current state of the banking sector.”

Elderfield will be followed by Philip Brennan, Vice-Chairman ACOI and Managing Director, Raiseaconcern.com who will speak on the topic: “The Compliance Officer of the Future”.

This event is open to the public and is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm on Friday 19 October in Boole 1 Lecture Theatre with tea/coffee being served from 3:00pm to 3:30pm. Public parking is available at Perrott Avenue (near Hayfield Manor Hotel) or Perrott’s Inch (near Gaol Cross).
