Entrepreneur in Residence at Cambridge University, Ms Hanadi Jabado, will deliver a public lecture entitled ‘Rejuvenate Your Business Through Entrepreneurship’ on Thursday October 11 at UCC.

Hosted by the Department of Management and Marketing at UCC, the lecture is part of a series of master classes that will be delivered by international academics over the coming three years.

The Department of Management and Marketing is an official programme partner of the All-Island Innovation Programme, operated in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast, University College Dublin, NUI Galway and UCC. The programme is funded by InterTradeIreland to promote and encourage innovation across the island of Ireland.

Ms Hanadi Jabado has founded businesses in several industries, including education, online retail and property, and works with companies around the world performing board reviews and delivering master classes. She is also an in-demand mentor to entrepreneurs, students and executives. Her advice is that that all businesses, both old and new, need to keep thinking like an entrepreneur:

“Established businesses can fall into a pattern of running business as usual, or, even worse, focusing on fire fighting problems. Continuing to innovate is key to ensuring a company grows.”

Dr Joan Buckley, Head of the Department of Management and Marketing at UCC, welcomes the opportunity for the University to host the event:

“The All-Island Innovation Programme provides an excellent opportunity for the Munster business community to hear directly from a world-renowned expert. The topic is relevant to all organisations, irrespective of scale or purpose, as they strive to find new and innovative ways to meet their customer demands and develop within a global context.”

Aidan Gough, Strategy and Policy Director at InterTradeIreland, says:

“Nurturing the role of the entrepreneurial individual within existing businesses is vital to driving innovation, which is critical to the future of both economies, North and South. Ms. Jabado’s lecture will provide useful insights for businesses on the pivotal role that innovation plays in securing a company’s future success.”

Members of the local business community, policy makers and academics may be particularly interested in this free event, as well as the wider community. It will take place at 6.45pm on October 11 in Boole 3. Light refreshments will be provided, as well as an opportunity to network in a pre-event from 6pm in the Staff Common Room in the North Wing, UCC.
