IT Summer Camp
28.06.2011
UCC’s Computer Science Department recently hosted an interactive IT summer camp for 14-16 year olds in the state-of-the-art IT facilities in Western Gateway Building, UCC. The aim of the camp was to afford the students to "have fun" while learning new and exciting IT skills.
Participants
in the course gained an insight into the following:
- Web
design
- Multimedia
design
- Game
development
- Cartoon
design
- Working
with robots
Due
to huge demand, the course was fully subscribed within hours of advertising it,
and places were awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 30
applicants. The week was held in co-operation with the Higher Education
Authority, and the Computer Science Department is grateful for the HEA’s
continued support.
