UCC academic wins award from Canadian Government

Dr Maeve Conrick, Dean of Arts, Vice Head, College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, Department of French, UCC, has been presented with a Canadian Government Faculty Enrichment Award.

Dr Maeve Conrick, Dean of Arts, Vice Head, College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, Department of French, UCC, has been presented with a Canadian Government Faculty Enrichment Award.
The award was presented by the Ambassador of Canada, Pat Binns, at the Ambassador's Residence in Dublin, on June 15th 2009, in the presence of An t-Uasal Éamon Ó Cuív, Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
The Faculty Enrichment Program is offered by the Canadian Government, assisted by the International Council for Canadian Studies, and is designed to increase knowledge and understanding of Canada among academic communities internationally. Dr Conrick will take up the award in Ottawa and New Brunswick, carrying out research on a project titled "The Linguistics of Canada: Majority / Minority Issues".
