The Southside Sports Awards were presented at the Cork International Airport Hotel recently and UCC sports stars were once again well represented. UCC Graduate, Ronan O’Gara, received the April Award for his performances in Ireland’s historic Grand Slam rugby win.

The Southside Sports Awards were presented at the Cork International Airport Hotel recently and UCC sports stars were once again well represented. UCC Graduate, Ronan O’Gara, received the April Award for his performances in Ireland’s historic Grand Slam rugby win.
Audrey O Flynn received the May award in recognition of the UCC Ladies Hockey Club’s success in Munster this year. Audrey was instrumental in UCC’s Munster Senior Cup and Examiner Cup successes in addition to helping the side qualify for the All Ireland League in the coming season.
They follow on from Shane O Neill, another UCC student, who was honoured with one of the earlier monthly Awards in recognition of UCC’s victory in the Fitzgibbon Cup.
