National Elec Engineering Quiz 2009

The 3rd National Elec Engineering Quiz will take place simultaneously in four colleges on Saturday next, January 17th 2009 at 12 noon. The four colleges involved are UCC, DIT, NUI Galway and Waterford IT.

The 3rd National Elec Engineering Quiz will take place simultaneously in four colleges on Saturday next, January 17th 2009 at 12 noon. The four colleges involved are UCC, DIT, NUI Galway and Waterford IT.
The event aims to encourage interest amongst students in considering Electrical or Electronic Engineering as a future career.
UCC, who have championed this National Quiz, have held a successful Elec Engineering Quiz in UCC for the past seven years. DIT organised the first such quiz in Dublin in 2006. This is the third time that the quiz is being run on a national scale and where there will be an overall national winning team from the four venues participating.
MIDAS Ireland (www.midasireland.ie) is sponsoring the national prize for this event to the value of €2000. The highest scoring team across all venues will win the national award.
The National Elec Eng Quiz is open to fifth and sixth year students, with a team of four students participating from each school. The quiz will test the students' knowledge in Engineering and Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Each college will give regional prizes to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams, as well as spot prizes for all attendees. Accompanying teachers will also have the opportunity to win a prize.
