Munster Students Innovate to Success

The Second Annual Transition Year Enterprise Awards ceremony was held in UCC recently.
This competition is an initiative of the UCC Commerce Faculty.  Its aim is to encourage students to write about their experience of running a company/enterprise or bank in their school with a view to considering studying business at degree level and subsequent career progression in this area. Students were also asked to submit three innovative recession solving suggestions.

 “Transition Year Gear” by Beara Community College, Casteltownbere was chosen as winner of the Award by judges from Cork Chamber and UCC. “Crafty Daze” by Regina Mundi College, Douglas and “Year Hoodies” by Borrisokane Community Centre, Borrisokane, Nenagh were awarded with 2nd and 3rd place prizes respectively. “Belletha” by St. Mary’s Charleville were the runners-up and there was a special commendation for “Ti Amo” by Christ the King Secondary School, South Douglas Road, Cork.

This competition is generously sponsored by Cork Chamber and supported by Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland and AIB.
