UCC’s Department of Accounting, Finance & Information Systems has launched a new Accounting Online support service which will be available to all students taking any accounting modules.

UCC’s Department of Accounting, Finance & Information Systems has launched a new Accounting Online support service which will be available to all students taking any accounting modules.
The virtual learning support, launched by Professor Grace Neville, Vice-President for Teaching & Learning, UCC is offered as part of the services of the Accounting & Finance Resource Centre.
Based in the O’Rahilly Building, the resource centre already offers mentor support for all students taking an accounting or finance module at UCC, regardless of academic programme. The development of the new online facility originated from a research project supported by the National Academy for the Integration of Research & Teaching & Learning (NAIRTL).
The new resource, offered via Blackboard, and accessible on a 24 hour basis, contains subject area fact sheets listing information on key topic areas in financial accounting, management accounting and finance which can be downloaded by students. There is also a live discussion board, where students can ask questions, post a query, comment on existing threads, or simply just read what everyone is talking about!
The Resource Centre can also be contacted at afrc@ucc.ie. Mentors are available, in ORB 3.18, at the following times:
Mondays: 10.30-12.30 pm, Financial Accounting
Wednesdays: 2-4 pm, Finance
Fridays: 10-12 noon, Management Accounting
The services of the Accounting & Finance Resource Centre and the online support will be available throughout the Easter study period, until the commencement of summer examinations.
