UCC hosts Colloquium on Innovation in Construction

UCC's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering will host a colloquium on "Innovation in Construction" on Friday, September 7th (http://zuse.ucc.ie/colloquium).

Guest speakers from Ireland, the US, Switzerland, and Germany will be among participants from industry, public agencies and academia who will gather at UCC to hear presentations on the latest research on innovation in construction.   The aim of the colloquium is to discuss how the construction industry can benefit from Information Technology and achieve better building performance.

The Colloquium commences with Session I titled "Information Technology in Architecture" followed by Session II which will focus on "Information Technology as Integrator Amongst Disciplines".  Session III will discuss "Information Technology for Complex Engineering Systems".

Prior to the Colloquium, Professor Karsten Menzel, chair for Information Technology in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction at UCC's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering will deliver his Inaugural Lecture titled "Building Technology 2030: Intelligent, sustainable, reliable" .  The lecture takes place on Thursday, September 6th at the CEE-Building, UCC, Room G10 at 4pm. Currently, 60 participants from industry, public agencies and academia are registered.
