'Caligula: Mad or Maligned?' is the title of a public lecture to be delivered at UCC on Thursday next, 3 May by Professor Anthony A. Barrett, Department of Classical, Near Eastern and Religious Studies, University of British Columbia, Canada.  Hosted by UCC's Department of Classics, the lecture takes place at 7pm in the O'Rahilly Building, Room 2.55.

Professor Barrett is the author of three widely acclaimed books, Caligula: The Corruption of Power (Yale University Press: 1990), Agrippina: Sex, Power, and Politics (Yale University Press: 1998), and Livia: First Lady of Imperial Rome (Yale University Press: 2002), as well as numerous articles on the early imperial period in leading academic journals.

Members of the public are invited to attend the lecture and admission is free.
