Electrical Engineering Open Day 2007, 23 March
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will hold its
annual Electrical Engineering Open Day on Friday, 23 March 2007 between
10am and 4pm in the Electrical Engineering Building on the UCC Main
Campus.
This Open Day showcases the project work completed by students in their
final year of the CK605 degree programme, and includes practical
demonstrations of the many diverse technologies that are all part of
Electrical Engineering, including renewable energy, robotics, wireless
sensors, and biomedical systems. A rescue robot programmed to assist
during building fires, and a model house wired to remotely control
windows and lights by mobile phone are just two of the many exciting
projects that will be on display.
One of the main objectives of this Open Day is to promote understanding
of what professional Electrical Engineers actually do by providing an
opportunity to meet current final year Electrical Engineering students
from the CK605 degree programme, learn about their experiences, and
discover the huge range of job opportunities for professional
Electrical Engineers.
