time that it was run on a national scale.

winning school is sponsored by MIDAS Ireland (Microelectronics Industry
Design Association Ireland www.midasireland.ie) and will be presented
during Engineering and Technology Week of Wonder www.weekofwonder.ie
which takes place from 19-23 February 2007. As regional winners,
each team member also received a Nintendo DS Lite. Freescale
Seminconductor, Cork Electronics Industry Association and Horner Irl
sponsored the UCC prizes. Sponsorship was also received from Discover
Science and Engineering to support the nationwide events.
The quiz is open to fifth & sixth year students, with a team of
four students participating from each school. The quiz tests the
students' knowledge in Engineering & Science, Mathematics and
General Knowledge. UCC awarded prizes to the top five teams in
the quiz. Presentation College, Mardyke took second place while Mount
Mercy, Scoil Mhuire gan Smál Blarney and Coláiste Chríost Rí came
