This is part of a nationwide roadshow across the Higher Education (HE) sector institutions aimed at promoting the EI supports for commercialisation from academia (ie Proof of Concept, Technology Development Funding, Innovation Partnerships), including soft supports and hard funding mechanisms through which EI seeks to encourage and facilitate high quality applied research aimed at the commercial exploitation of knowledge.
 
As part of its commitment to facilitate the commercialisation of research, in the context of the Strategy for Science Technology & Innovation and aligned research priorities across the funding agencies, Enterprise Ireland has brought the range of supports together under a Commercialisation Fund umbrella.
 
The Commercialisation Fund umbrella provides support in six phases:

• Proof of Concept Phase
• Technology Development Phase
• Commercialisation Plus
• Business Development Phase - Commercialisation of Research Development
• Innovation Partnerships
• Patent Fund

The Proof of Concept and Technology Development Funding programmes as well as Innovation Partnerships (which facilitate industrial academic collaboration) have been the main funding mechanism used for applied Research & Development. However, the other phases are tools for the further protection and commercialisation of a potentially valuable technology or research area, and thus also may be of interest.  
 
The event will be held in Room LG 51, Cavanagh Pharmacy Building  from 10 am-12 noon with refreshments afterwards.   
 
All researchers are welcome, particularly those with a potential or current interest in Innovation Partnerships, technology commercialisation and industrial collaboration.
