BONO attends Irish Hunger Task Force Meeting in UCC

The second meeting of the Hunger Task Force, launched by the Irish Government in September 2006, took place in UCC on Friday last, November 16th.

The second meeting of the Hunger Task Force, launched by the Irish Government in September 2006, took place in UCC on Friday last, November 16th.
The Irish Aid White Paper identified Hunger & Food Security as key elements of the global development challenge and made a commitment to establish the Hunger Task Force.
The national and international panel of experts chaired by Joe Walsh, former Minister for Agriculture & Food, includes Bono, renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs, Sheila Sisulu of the UN World Food Programme, Tom Arnold, CEO, Concern, Justin Kilcullen, Director of Trócaire and Professor Denis Lucey of UCC.
A further two meetings will take place including one in Malawi before the Task Force reports its findings in the Summer of next year.
