Be Safe, Be Seen this Winter

UCC and the Mardyke Arena have launched a safety campaign to encourage greater visibility on our roads this winter.
As part of our Be Safe Be Seen campaign, free high visibility vests and lights will be given out at UCC’s Mardyke Arena on Tuesday (14th) and Wednesday (15th) January between 5.30pm – 7.30pm on both days.
“It is wonderful to see so many of our students pounding the pavements in January, but it is so important that they and members of our local community are safe and seen” states Michele Power, of the Quercus Talented Students' Programme
“The early months of any year are traditionally a time when more people are exercising outdoors. They may be at the beginning of a new fitness journey and it is so important that they are safe. We are delighted to work with UCC, our community, the Gardai and the RSA on this campaign” stated Christine Moloney, CEO of the Mardyke Arena.
UCC is working with the UCC Students' Union, an Garda Siochana, and the Road Safety Authority on this initiative.
